Experiment

This Clip was only an experiment, seeing what we could do with the rough footage we already have.
We tried to recreate a stop start motion that the white stripes have used in previous music video's. This was done by taking a two different strums of the bass and guitar and duplicated them over and over again.

Here is a video we made in a different style to see what other styles we could possible do. However we used a different song in order to make this video. Tommy Gun by Royal Republic.

Production schedule

This is a picture of the production schedule, this is a plan of when we will meet up, the people who are meeting up, the time and date plus the equipment. We also highlight possible problems with what could go wrong.

Booking Form

this form was needed as we wouldn't be able to film without filling out the booking form.

Mood board

This is our mood board, this is to represent what kind of feelings we are trying to convey though our music video, what kind of key items, locations and themes in the video that will be covered. Some of these are our side locations to indoor locations jumping between them. It will also include a focus on the instruments and the musicians to emphases the ability of the musicians and shows off there ability to play there instruments.

Researching Song choose

Here below are 3 different Indie rock music videos, they all show similar connotations of in which they all use the typical performance and then a have a narrative which us similar though out all of these videos but the narrative seems to revolve around the performance, this is a connotation of Indie rock music videos. Each video has it's own unique spin on it like in Kaiser Chiefs Ruby they have the city building up around them which I suppose is technically a narrative but it doesn't tell much of a story. The Strokes Reptilia does this again with there constant use of close ups, my point is that we will be using some of the connotations from Indie rock music videos but we will again be putting our own spin on the typical performance.

Recreation shots.

These areas are the places where we are going to Shoot the footage for our music video. We choose these locations as the had a clear background where it is clear who is performing. The also makes it more performance based, just like other videos done by the white stripes.
Brick wall

Stair case

Under a tree

Risk Areas To Be Assessed

This is a risk assessment that we carried out to determine what possible risks we might encounter during filming, these could include, pyrotechnics, the use of animals or children, if we use temporary structures or not and so on, there is more detail in the actual forms below.

We did a rick assessment to ensure the safety of us filming and making sure all the equipment does not get damaged. It also covers the safety of us around when filming.

High view concert shot

Wardrobe and style

The wardrobe will be mainly dark clothing as it will be clear who is the main focus in each scene, whether we are filming on the street, on a stair case or in front of a brick wall. The clothing could possible be a dark pair of trousers and a dark T-shirt.
The style of clothing should be of a casual dress sense, so nothing to smart, (shirt, tie and work trousers) and nothing that seems to fit a different genre.

Hardest Button to button lyrics

We started living in an old house
My ma gave birth and we were checking it out
It was a baby boy
So we bought him a toy
It was a ray gun
And it was 1981
We named him Baby
He had a toothache
He started crying
It sounded like an earthquake
It didnt last long
Because I stopped it
I grabbed a rag doll
And stuck some little pins in it
Now were a family
And were alright now
We got money and a little place
To fight now
We dont know you
And we dont owe you
But if you see us around
I got something else to show you
Now its easy when you dont know better
You think its sleazy?
Then put it in a short letter
We keep warm
But theres just something wrong when you
Just feel like youre the hardest little button
To button
I had opinions
That didnt matter
I had a brain
That felt like pancake batter
I got a backyard
With nothing in it
Except a stick
A dog
And a box with something in it
The hardest button to button(x7)
*background: The hardest button to button (x3)

we have used 4 different clips to create a the video and have used the beat of the music and the instruments to try and make it a sucessful and entertaining video.

Flow chart

This flow chart is used to represent our storyboard. This is showing what kind of shots we will be using and the kind of transitions that we will be using in between, The video will consist of mostly different clips being put over other clips to make them look like transitions when they aren't actually proper transitions.

Audience research

Here are some examples of audience research, the images of people in crowds shows that The White Stripes have a fan base and the tweeter feed shows again that they have a fan base that want to keep up to date with what the band are doing and so they can get information on tour dates and merchandise etc.

Here is some audience research that I conducted on facebook, I asked "If you listen to The White Stripes, how often would you listen to their music?" And gave them several choices, some where added by some people later and they gave me an range of different answers. Some people didn't listen to them at all and some listened to them to a small degree, others like myself listen to them quite regularly, This could show that there music perhaps isn't as popular as it was when it first came out or I don't know many die hard White Strips fans.
Then I asked another question on Facebook asking, "How do you feel about the Indie Rock genre as a whole?" when I asked this question I got more answers then I did for perhaps the last question
