music video analysis

The music Video for "crushcurushcrush" was film out in a barren desert area. The video also includes three people spying on the band from trinkets which form a house. The video is of the band performing as a band and not a story with the video laid over the music.
The Video has a very high cut rate, with around 223 cuts within 3mins and 10sec. (this count may not be correct) The camera has many types of movement using a lot of pans tilts, also it seems that it would be hand held camera with maybe a use of a steady cam at some parts of the video.
They use many shot sizes, close up, extreme close up, long shot, establishing shot, medium shot and low and high shots.
The lighting seems to be all natural as they are outside with the sun set behind them but addition lighting may have been added to make shadows from the sun less dark.
The Video was directed by Shane Drake, he also direct misery business.

Having a look at other music videos created by Paramore, the cut rate also seems to be fast and in time with the music and using a lot of the same shot sizes.
Crushcrushcrush by Paramore does not involve a story, unlike Misery Business which has a story which is follows the lyrics.
The lighting is recreated to imitate lighting that is the same levels within the school/college/university.

The Genre of the White stripes is Indie, however indie will mix with many genres. This music video was direct by the duo Alex Courtes And Martin Fougerol.
In a way there is only one shot but used many time using an effect to make it continues. This gives the video a never ending feeling throughout the song, only ending when the song ends.
The positioning of the lighting is in front of the band members, making them light without shadows interfering.
